ANOTHER HIGH IMPACT COASTAL STORM LIKELY MID-WEEK – Hurricane Network

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
HURRICANE NETWORK NEW YORK NY

...ANOTHER HIGH IMPACT COASTAL STORM LIKELY MID-WEEK...

Another strong coastal storm is forecast to form by Wednesday and
impact much of the same areas impacted by the destructive storm last
week. The system is expected to rapidly intensify as it comes close
to Northeastern coast of the United States Wednesday night producing
heavy snowfall and high winds across the region.

As of the recent assessment of the situation, the worst of the winds
will be contained to the immediate coasts of Long Island and Cape
Cod with wind gusts up to 60 mph. Inland areas could reach near-
blizzard or blizzard status with frequent gusts of 30 to 35 mph.
Winds are currently not expected to reach hurricane-force.

Because of the damage caused by the recent storm, utilities and
trees may be vulnerable to damage with 40 mph gusts. We recommend
you prepare for the potential of power outages across the region
because of that reason.
